April 17–19
Heartwork House KCMO
A weekend of play, creative expression, inner trust and gentle release.
An Invitation
Chris and I invite you to the Inner Child Retreat!
This retreat is an invitation to slow down, soften, and reconnect with parts of yourself that learned to adapt, perform, or stay small– and are now ready to be met with care.
The Inner Child Healing Retreat is a trauma-aware, and joyous gathering focused on inner child connection, somatic release, creativity, and surrender (Ishvara Pranidhana). Rather than forcing healing or catharsis, this weekend honors your own timing, your own capacity, and your body’s wisdom.
Nothing needs to be proven or performed here.
You’re welcome to participate in ways that feel supportive for you.
This weekend meets you where you are.
Over the past year, both Chris and I have felt a strong pull toward inner child healing in our own lives and practices. It’s work that asks us to slow down, soften, and reconnect with the parts of ourselves that still long for play, safety, creativity, and care.
April has always felt like a natural time for release and renewal, and this year I found myself planning a personal ritual to honor that transition. As we began talking about it together, the idea slowly grew into something larger.
What if we created a weekend where others could explore this work alongside us?
Together, we’ve designed a retreat that blends movement, creativity, reflection, and ritual into a space that feels supportive, playful, and accessible. Our hope is to offer a weekend where healing can unfold gently, surrounded by community.
This retreat may be especially supportive if you:
Feel disconnected from joy, play, or creativity
Notice old patterns that no longer fit, but feel hard to release
Want to explore inner child healing without pressure or re-traumatization
Are craving community, ritual, and meaningful connection
Long to soften control and practice trust in yourself and something greater
No prior yoga, art, inner child or spiritual experience is required.
Inner Child Healing & Play
Ishvara Pranidhana– surrender, trust, & softening
Kapha Balance – releasing heaviness and encouraging flow
Somatic Release – listening to the body rather than forcing change
Creative Expression – art as exploration, not performance
Tarot & Tea Time. A gentle opening circle to arrive, ground, and orient to the weekend. Bring your own oracle deck & your intentions for the weekend. You’ll be invited to place a sacred object representing your inner child on the altar.
Yin + Flow Yoga (with Tavia). These 30 minute offerings are slow, supportive movement practices focused on nervous system regulation, tapping into your inner wisdom, and embodied presence.
Connect With Your Inner Child Workshop (with Chris). A guided exploration to gently meet younger parts of yourself with curiosity & compassion.
Inner Child Exploration Through Art (with Chris). An evening of playful, intuitive art-making where your inner child gets to lead– no art experience needed.
Release Jar Ritual (with Tavia). A weekend-long ritual process culminating in a collective ceremony to release what you’re ready to set down. This ritual weaves somatic movement, intention, and surrender– honoring that release happens in layers, not all at once.
Each participant will receive a physical jar at the beginning of the weekend. Over the course of our time together, you’ll be invited to place words, symbols, drawings, or reflections into the jar as different layers reveal themselves.
Rather than forcing release, this ritual is rooted in Ishvara Pranidhana – surrender and trust. On Sunday, we’ll gather for a somatic, embodied ritual to release what feels ready, honoring that not everything must go at once.
Spacious Breaks & Optional Community Meals. Long lunch breaks and optional potlucks to support rest, integration, and choice. There will be opportunities during lunch breaks to receive products/services from fellow participants or practitioners wanting to share their healing gifts.

We wanted to offer a retreat that feels approachable, creative, and deeply human — a space where people can explore healing without pressure or expectation.
Whether you come feeling curious, tender, playful, or simply in need of a reset, our hope is that this weekend offers space to reconnect with yourself and the parts of you that still deserve care.
We are truly looking forward to sharing this experience and holding this space together in community.
